Job Description
My client, a leading law firm in the centre of Leeds is currently seeking a quality support manager to join their team. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Practice Governance & Risk you will Manage Quality Support Services (internal compliance audit) team based throughout the UK, including:-
Chairing team meetings, conducting one to ones and performance reviews, overseeing recruitment, work allocation, people development, coaching and other management responsibilities as required
Working alongside the auditors you'll be agreeing, setting and delivering compliance audit programmes
You'll be working with the QSS Executives to ensure project plans are in place for each audit, teams are fully briefed and, where appropriate, ensuring the team’s activities are managed throughout the audit
Working with QSS Executives, oversee and/or lead audit closure meetings to discuss findings with the client
Act as the contact point for the business in respect of the capacity of the team, keeping the audit schedule under review
Undertake compliance audits if audit resource is temporarily insufficient
Feedback to Deputy Head of Practice Governance & Risk and the business on evaluation results
Use SharePoint software and Microsoft Office to co-ordinate and provide accurate reports, and monitor performance
Co-ordinate and ensure the delivery of timely and comprehensive reporting on performance against key performance indicators, highlighting areas where indicators have not been met and identifying any trends and patterns in compliance levels.
Act on issues as they arise to ensure any corrective actions are recorded, in place and effective
Ensure that the audit process is kept under continual review, making appropriate improvements as and when required
Manage ISO procedures relating to substandard service and corrective action
Champion quality and continuous improvement under ISO 9001 and ISO 27001
Manage and co-ordinate ISO assessment and surveillance visits
The Person
Excellent experience of evaluating/auditing quality standards, typically gained through experience within a professional environment or law firm.
Exposure to implementation and auditing of ISO accreditation and Standards with the abilityto agree audit criteria for ISO Standards
Previous experience of co-ordinating evaluations is highly desirable
Experience of team leadership or team management.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, with CQI or a similar quality management qualification
Holding or working towards a suitable and recognised qualification or certificate in Quality Auditing such as a Diploma in Internal Audit Practice, Internal QMS Auditor, QMS Series Auditor/Lead Auditor
A knowledge of risk based approaches to compliance
Previous experience within an ISO9001 or Lexcel environment. Experience of ISO 27001 would be beneficial
Experience of Microsoft Office packages with preferably a working knowledge of Sharepoint
Experience of working autonomously and managing own workload and supervising that of team members with the ability to work effectively in both physical and ‘virtual’ teams
Excellent communication skills including the confidence to conduct interviews as part of the evaluation process whilst being assertive yet highly customer focused
The ability to identify information from a number of sources quickly
Excellent time and self management skills with a self motivated and well organised approach
Superb attention to detail and a concern for quality, together with the ability to maintain concentration and accuracy when carrying out repetitive tasks
